Alex Lukazi provided the schematic below. You can also download the PDF. Alex states that he reverse-engineered the cable using his best guess and a trial-and-error method. I built one on a breadboard and a Commodore 64 user port breakout board (picture at bottom of page) and confirmed that it works.
