Step 1. The Universal Buggy

To learn about Lego 8-bit control, you're going to need a robot! The easiest way to start is by building set 1038, Universal Buggy. It is a simple design with only 117 parts and just six steps. Here are the instructions.

Some websites call this set "Erbie the Robo-Car". I don't know why. There is no evidence that the Lego company ever used that name. If you know why some people call it this, then please contact me!
